We
have completed the full fit out
project of the new Piaget store
for the Richemont Group. Piaget are designer
watch makers and Jeweller’s and
this is their first ‘Boutique Store’
in the UK. Piaget are also part
of the Richemont Group. The refurbishment covered a 7-storey
building, which is situated in New
Bond Street, London.

This
property was once the London residence
of the Second Duke of Westminster.
The project was completed in 2009,
to a high specification, and is
now the new Head Office, Restaurant,
Hotel and exclusive Retail Premises
for Alfred Dunhill in Mayfair.
This project involved major structural
alterations, a large Basement extension,
full façade restoration and complete
fit out. Works were completed over
10-months to the value of £3.3 million.
The property is saturated with
original architectural points of
interest and retains many of the
splendid period features; all which
had to be carefully protected or
restored by Specialist Contractors.

This Boutique Store, which is situated
in the heart of London, was completed
to a very high standard. Structural
works were initially involved to
move the staircase from the Ground
Floor to the Basement.
The remaining works were mainly
high class shop fittings, many of
which were produced in Germany.
Lighting, data and general retail
storage areas were all installed
before the finishes were introduced.
We have also carried out works
for Vertu at their Store in Paris
and in their concession in Galeries
Lafayette, Paris.
We currently maintain the Vertu
Store in Old Bond Street, and their
concessions in Harrods and Selfridges,
Manchester.
Vertu Head Office,
Church Crookham
Vertu have
a history of precision and
perfection and, for this reason,
they designed a complete Mock-Up
Store, complete with shop front,
mechanical and electrical
services, high specification
finishes and German fabricated
display units, to sit into the
Lobby of their UK Head Office.
From concept to
completion, we worked closely
with the Vertu Team to deliver a
new brand, which would not be
out of place in any major city
in the world.
As
the Reception and Lobby of their
Head Office remained open
throughout, the project was very
demanding but the results after
6-weeks on site was extremely
pleasing for all involved.
Vertu can now test
display equipment, lighting and
train staff in a Boutique store
environment (in Hampshire).

Following
the successful completion of Alfred
Dunhill’s new Head Office, Restaurant,
Hotel and exclusive Retail Premises
in Mayfair, we then moved onto their
Jermyn Street Store; which was their
original ‘Flagship Store’ in the
West End of London.
This was a complete refurbishment,
from floors to ceilings, which included
back of house, Vitrines, window
displays and the main retail area,
again to the very high standards
that are expected by the Richemont
Group.
The store was divided into two,
with one half being sold to another
Gents Retailer, Boggi of Milan.
Boggi also became one of our Clients’
and again we moved on to refurbish
their store.
This project was completed 1-week
early, when the Client requested,
halfway through the works, their
intention to open a week early.

Desertoak refurbished this impressive
building on St James Street as the
first UK store for Beretta. The
store, or Gallery as Beretta like
it to be known, has retained a lot
of the original panelling and plasterwork.
The Gallery is spread over 4-floors,
with the Gun Room on the Second
Floor. Security and quality were
paramount when creating this unique
store.
The store was completed in 8-weeks,
with a bonus paid to ensure that
the store opened in time for Christmas.
All deadlines were achieved.
We have continued to carry further
works and maintenance at Beretta
since the refurbishment and, furthermore,
we have since completed a fit out
for Beretta in a concession within
Harrods.

Following the successful completion
of the Alfred Dunhill store in Jermyn
Street, London, we were then approached
by the Italian Gentlemen’s’ Retailer,
Boggi Milano, to carry out the fit
out works to their first UK retail
store in Jermyn Street, London.
The Client employed several Italian
Contractors, who were also managed
by Desertoak Ltd, in order to comply
with UK Health and Safety and CDM
legislation.
The store was required to be
completed to an extremely fast-
track programme, but the standards
could not be jeopardised.

For the last 20-years, Desertoak
have worked in partnership with
the Lloyds TSB Banking Group, carrying
out refurbishments and co-location
works to the Bank’s Branches and
Offices nationwide.
Many of these projects included
structural alterations, to enable
new layouts and services to be incorporated.
Over the years, these projects have
progressed with the Bank’s designs
and working procedures.
As a
preferred Contractor, Branches
were completed nationally on a
three year programme, based upon
an agreed Schedule of Rates.
More
recently we have been involved
in the refurbishment and repairs
to the facades of the Branches
in the south west of the UK,
which have predominantly been
stonework and rendered finishes.

Following the successful removal
of the Vertu concession in Nokia’s
Flagship Store, Nokia requested that we carry out
some follow on minor works.
Desertoak constructed the new
glass surround for their massive
103” Plasma TV, which had been relocated
from the First Floor. New service
points were also required, without
any disturbance to the existing
wall or floor
finishes.
All works were carried out at
